Community Engagement

UU congregations should be rooted in the larger community, and collaborations across faiths and traditions is an important piece of community building beyond a congregation’s walls. I take seriously the role of representing my congregation and collaborating with interfaith leaders and colleagues within my community to build strong bonds. I’ve witnessed firsthand how powerful interfaith and community work is for the wider community, as a clergy member of Wayland’s Interfaith Leaders Association (WILA).

In wider circles, I’ve demonstrated a commitment to being involved in the community through a number of positions, namely my work with Harvard Divinity School’s Queer Rites/LGBTQ+ Activism group, the Harvard UU Ministry for Students group, and facilitating/hosting an Interfaith Book Club with leaders at Wayland’s local mosque. Being in active community with one another and our wider circles is how we practice our faith and share our “good news” with others.
